A Time for Celebration

This year, the calendar conspired in such a way that in one glorious week we had so much to celebrate.  It was the beginning of spring (at least in the northern hemisphere!), Easter, the Jewish celebration of Purim, and Persian New Year’s.  As if that weren’t enough, the Third Annual World Pillow Fight Day was celebrated just down the block from my home.

All of those celebrations were last week, what have you celebrated since then?  As soon as a celebration ends, we go back to our daily lives with a sense of renewal that has a danger of fading.  Soon we are caught up in the details of our lives.  Our energy is spent on what needs to be done “right now.”

Don’t wait for the next large celebration to stop and notice what’s wonderful.  Declare your own “personal celebration time” every day, even if only for a moment.  Notice something wonderful, and then fix something that you would like to add to a future “personal celebration time.”  Soon your list of topics for “personal celebrations” will grow exponentially, and your sense of renewal will be sustained.

Taking time to celebrate is just one part of a life coaching relationship.  Want to learn more about coaching?  Read about it or contact Dawn.
