Igniting the Experience of Discovery

Past Performance, Future Results

I recently started flossing.  My brother and I somehow inherited strong teeth that have never required much care and have not produced any cavities. However, I decided that it was time to add flossing to my daily regimen of brushing.  This new habit was not precipitated by an oral hygiene emergency.  It was inspired by the stock market.
Floss!

Past performance does not guarantee future results.

This statement, printed on every financial statement, seems to be more than just a disclaimer these days.  If the fairly strong stock market can decay due to millions of risky decisions, then certainly my fairly strong teeth could decay due to my daily risky decision not to floss.  It seems that the thing to do is to take care of your strongest assets before they decay, because it is harder to recover than to maintain.  We can’t really control the past, or the future, but we can control today.  And today I floss in order to improve the odds that tomorrow will bring the results that I anticipate.   What daily habit do you need to introduce into your life so that you can maintain and improve your best physical, mental, emotional or spiritual assets?  Contact me and tell me what decay-fighting habit you are going to introduce into your life.
